Eligibility and recruitment

  • Educational Qualification: A bachelor's degree with Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, or Applied Statistics as one of the subjects, or a master's degree in the same fields, is required.
  • Recruitment: Candidates are recruited through a competitive exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
  • Age Limit: The upper age limit is 30 years, with relaxations for SC/ST (up to 5 years) and OBC (up to 3 years) candidates.
