The RPSC civil services exam (RAS exam) is conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission for state services. To apply, you must be a graduate with an age between 21 and 40 years, and the selection process involves three stages: a preliminary exam, a mains exam, and an interview. 
Eligibility and application
  • Education: A graduate degree from a recognized university is required.
  • Age: Applicants must be between 21 and 40 years old as of a specified date (e.g., 01/01/2025 for the 2025 exam).
  • Citizenship: Candidates must be citizens of India.
  • Application fees: Fees vary by category, with General/BC/OBC (Creamy Layer) paying ₹350, MBC/EWS paying ₹250, and SC/ST (with an annual income below ₹2.5 lakh) paying ₹150.

  • Exam pattern
    • Selection process: The exam is a three-stage process: Prelims, Mains, and Interview.
    • Prelims: An objective-type exam consisting of one paper for 200 marks, assessing general awareness, reasoning, and analytical skills.
    • Mains: A descriptive exam with four papers (General Studies I, II, III, and IV), each worth 200 marks, totaling 800 marks.
    • Interview: The final stage, which carries 100 marks and assesses personality, communication skills, and confidence.
    • Total marks: The total marks for the exam are 1000 (200 for Prelims + 800 for Mains + 100 for Interview).
