The UPPCS exam, also referred to as the 'Uttar Pradesh Combined State/Upper Subordinate Exam (General Selection/Special Selection)', is conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC). UPPSC conducts the PCS exam for the recruitment of candidates to work with the UP government for different posts. The UPPSC administers recruitment exams for a variety of positions, including Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Assistant Regional Transport Officer and others.

Steps to apply for the UPPSC 2025 exam
- Visit the official UPPSC website at uppsc.up.nic.in.
- Click on the "Recruitment" link in the header and select "Apply Online".
- From the list of notifications, find the correct 2025 examination and click on the "Apply" button.
- Complete the One Time Registration (OTR) process if you haven't already.
- Fill out the application form with the required details and upload scanned documents.
- Pay the application fee online.
- Submit the form and print a copy for your records.

The UPPSC PCS (Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services) exam is a state-level civil services examination conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) to recruit for various administrative positions in the state government. The selection process involves three stages: a preliminary (objective) exam, a main (written) exam, and a personality test/interview. Exam structure and pattern
- Consists of two papers: General Studies and CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test).
- General Studies is the merit-determining paper, with 150 questions for 200 marks.
- CSAT is a qualifying paper that requires a minimum of 33% to pass; marks are not added to the final score.
- A descriptive, conventional exam with eight papers.
- Includes General Hindi (150 marks), Essay (150 marks), and six General Studies papers (200 marks each).
