Tier-II will include conducting of Paper-I & Paper-II in separate shift(s)/ day(s).
Paper-I is compulsory for all the posts. Paper-II will be for only those candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and Statistical Investigator Grade-II in the office of Registrar General of India (M/o Home Affairs) and who are shortlisted in Tier-I for these Posts.
The “Data Entry Speed Test” (DEST) Skill Test will be conducted for a passage of about 2000 (two thousand) key depressions for a duration of 15 (fifteen) minutes. Detailed instructions regarding Skill Test will be provided by the Regional Offices of the Commission. The SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission for recruiting candidates for various Group B and Group C posts in government departments. To be eligible, a candidate must have a bachelor's degree, and the age limit varies by post, typically between 18 and 32 years. The exam is multi-tiered, usually consisting of a Tier-I (preliminary) and a Tier-II (main) computer-based test, followed by a skill/document verification test.
The SSC CGL exam has a Tier 1 qualifying computer-based test and a Tier 2 multi-paper exam. Tier 1 consists of 100 multiple-choice questions across four sections—General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension—for 200 marks, with a 60-minute time limit and a penalty of 0.5 marks for each incorrect answer. Tier 2 includes multiple papers, with Paper I being compulsory for all posts and other papers being post-specific.
